Rooted: A Weekly Community for Women
Yoga philosophy for everyday soulful living - at Pytchley Village Hall
What to expect
Rooted is a weekly sangha (community) for women - a gathering space shaped by the deeper teachings of yoga. It’s not a movement class, but a soul-nourishing hour of stillness, reflection, and shared inquiry. Together, we explore themes drawn from yogic philosophy and everyday life: compassion, truthfulness, letting go, contentment, self-study, and more. Each session includes: – A short talk or reading (Dharma) – Journaling or quiet personal reflection – Optional group sharing and discussion – When time allows, a simple yogic practice (breath, mantra, or meditation) This space is open to anyone drawn to the quieter threads of yoga. You don’t need to have studied philosophy or know Sanskrit - just come as you are, with an open heart and a willingness to explore. We also run a gentle book club in the background. The book we are currently studying is: The Bhagavad Gita for Daily Living (Volume 1) by Eknath Easwaran. There’s no pressure to read or listen to the book beyond our sessions - just an open invitation to deepen your practice through shared learning and conversation. Bring: you don't need any equipment but you may like to bring a journal, a drink, and something to sit on comfortably. Capped to a maximum of eight people, so the conversation is spacious, personal, and softly held. Come weekly or drop in when you need to feel grounded. Giving Back: After covering room and fuel costs, all proceeds from Rooted are being saved to support a local cause, chosen later this year - a small act of bhakti yoga, the yoga of devotion in action. So far, we have donated £100 each to Kettering Samaritans, The Green Patch and Johnny's Happy Place. Our current chosen charity is HomeStart Wellingborough.
