Rooted Sangha – Session Four Summary

Theme: Moving from fear towards balance

After quite a 'heavy' session the week before, I offered a grounding 'safe space' meditation to open the circle. It brought in elements of Metta: Loving Kindness, which is the meditation I am sharing below to accompany this week's theme.

Further Reflection: Two Gentle Maps for Ahimsa

This week, we talked about the Stress Bucket Analogy.

We explored some unhealthy coping strategies and also shared different ways we can release stress, these included:

  • Yoga!

  • Meditation

  • Singing

  • Dancing

  • Gaming

  • Nature

  • Running

  • Alone time

  • Music

  • Tai Chi

Our journal prompts for this week:

  • Where in my life do I feel balanced? Where do I feel pulled off centre?

  • What does deep harmony feel like? In each layer of my being?

  • What might it look like to 'guard my balance fiercely' in small, kind ways?

  • What helps me return to centre when I've been thrown off?

Giving Back

After covering room and fuel costs, all proceeds from Rooted are being saved to support a local cause, to be chosen together later this year — as a small act of Bhakti yoga, the yoga of devotion in action.

This week we put £50 aside, and we have a total of £75 saved so far.

Going Forward

Rooted has become a close-knit circle, and for now I am pausing new memberships so the group can continue to feel safe and held. I will continue to share our weekly themes on my Facebook page and blog, so you can journal and journey alongside us in your own way.

Next session, on 3rd September, we will continue our exploration of Ahimsa and explore the state of being in balance.

We are exploring The Yamas & The Niyamas by Deborah Adele across the next 8 months, one chapter per month. August’s focus is Ahimsa (Compassion). No pressure to read, but it will give you a deeper understanding of what we cover in this session and in our yoga classes.

Whether you were with us in person or following along from afar, you are warmly part of this circle 💛 Please feel free to get in touch with any questions or if you just want to chat.
