Soul Journey Autumn Check-In

Hi everyone, I hope you are all doing well as we transition from late summer to early Autumn. This week, we will find ourselves at Mabon. This year, it falls on Tuesday, September 23rd. Mabon is a time of balance when day and night stand equal before the darkness grows.

This sacred point in the cycle invites us to pause, reflect, and prepare for the quieter months ahead. Mabon is sometimes called the "Pagan Thanksgiving," a time to honour the harvest and express gratitude for the abundance in our lives. If you'd like to delve a little deeper into Mabon, see last year's blog post: https://www.sjholisticyoga.co.uk/post/mabon-embracing-balance-release-and-gratitude

This is one of my favourite times of the year. I love these thresholds, gateways into new phases. There’s a sense of possibility in the air, as though the world itself is holding its breath, waiting for us to step forward with intention.

These moments remind me that change is not always loud or dramatic. Sometimes it’s the subtle shift of light, the quiet turning of seasons, the soft unravelling of an old pattern to make space for something new. And if we allow ourselves to linger here, we can begin to feel what is ready to fall away, and what is longing to be welcomed in.

And so, as we cross into this new season together, I have a little news to share with you.

Seasonal Themes and Candlelit Classes

From next week, our classes will be returning to smaller capacities, so that we can honour the intimacy of our practice and the gentle connections that grow in those quieter spaces.

Evening sessions will once again be held by candlelight, just as they were last year — a soft glow to carry us through the darker evenings.

Our themes will draw on the seasons: nature-based, reflective, and deeply gentle. An invitation to move slowly, to breathe deeply, and to remember that we are part of the same great rhythm that guides the world around us.

Personal Development and Short-Term Plans

I believe that as a teacher, I should continually learn, deepen, and refine the ways I can support you. Over the next few months, I’ll be completing my MenoYoga training. This will enable me to provide knowledge, understanding, and practical tools to support women through the transitions of perimenopause and menopause, and to help those who have already passed through this stage to reflect, integrate, and find meaning in their experience.

My intention is to offer yoga that not only honours this stage of life but also provides gentle, effective ways to support the changes, challenges and many gifts of midlife. I will update everybody with new offerings as and when they manifest.

I’ve also recently qualified as a Rest Facilitator. Rest is often the missing piece in our well-being, and this training allows me to guide you into truly restorative states — blending gentle movement, guided rest practices, and deep relaxation. This means my sessions can now hold even more space for nervous system support, stress release, and profound replenishment.

Alongside group sessions, I will continue to offer 1:1 yoga and coaching. These are a wonderful opportunity to work closely together, whether you’re seeking tailored yoga practices, lifestyle support, or guidance through your own transitional seasons.

I also continue to enjoy collaborating with Sarah, aka The Holistic Teacher. Together we form Ebb and Flow Wellbeing, and in fact we have a gorgeous Mabon Celebration coming up this next Saturday. There are just a handful of places left if you'd like to join us!

Reflection Practice

I have prepared some seasonal journal prompts for your consideration.

I would like to express my special gratitude to our new Sangha group, which meets weekly, and all profits are donated to local causes. We have already raised £100 for Kettering Samaritans who work so tirelessly to support those in need, our next donation will be to Johnny's Happy Place, another incredible local resource.

And finally, thank you to all my amazing clients for your ongoing support, your trust, and your friendship — it truly means the world to me. Every time you step onto the mat, join a circle, or simply share a kind word, you remind me why I do this work. Our community is built on these connections, on the shared commitment to showing up for ourselves and for one another.

As we move into this next season together, I look forward to holding space for you — in smaller, more intimate classes, in candlelight, in the steady rhythm of seasonal practice. May we continue to grow, rest, and flourish side by side.
