Theme: Beginnings & Compassionate Living
In our first session, we gently arrived in circle together — some of us meeting for the first time — and explored the question: “What brought you to this sangha?” We took time to land, to listen, and to share the many reasons we each felt drawn to a dedicated yoga philosophy group.
Sangha means community, but not just any community — it’s a gathering of people who come together with shared intention, to walk the path of awareness, truth, and inner growth side by side.
In yogic and Buddhist traditions, sangha refers to a sacred circle — a place where we are not expected to have all the answers, but where we are supported in living the questions. It’s a container for listening deeply, speaking honestly, and remembering that we are not alone in the unfolding of our lives.
Sangha doesn’t require sameness. It invites authenticity. It’s not a place for performance — it’s a space for presence.
I have created a short guided meditation for you to enjoy at home:

Giving Back
It was decided that, after covering room and fuel costs, all proceeds from Rooted are being saved to support a local cause, to be chosen together later this year — as a small act of Bhakti yoga, the yoga of devotion in action.
This week we put £15 aside.
Going Forward
Next session, we will start our exploration of Ahimsa.
We’ll be exploring The Yamas & The Niyamas by Deborah Adele across the next 8 months, one chapter per month. August’s focus is Ahimsa (Compassion). No pressure to read, but it will give you a deeper understanding of what we cover in this session and in our yoga classes.
Whether you were with us in person or following along from afar, you are warmly part of this circle 💛 Please feel free to get in touch with any questions.
